Welcome to the Thursday Night Potpourri web page.

I've finally gotten around to doing some more updating of this page. Special thanks to Sector14.net for providing the space.

Your comments and suggestions are always appreciated.

Thursday Night Potpourri airs each Thursday night from nine until midnight eastern time. It can be heard on satellite over the W0KIE Satellite Network on AMC-7, channel 05, 7.5 wide band audio. Satellite space provided by Superstar/Netlink, Turnervision.

You can also listen to TNP live on the internet.

If you miss the show, you can hear it in Real Audio or MP3 delayed four hours, on WQNA in Springfield Illinois on Friday mornings from one to four ET. You are invited to check out the rest of WQNA's broadcast schedule, by going to their website.

If you listen to the show live, and have an IRC client installed on your computer, please feel free to join us in the TNP chatroom at irc.dishnuts.net.

If you have a high-speed connection, you can download the most recent show. But be warned! It's big!

As time and space permit, I will also place other files here for you to download. Including the popular Goodbye SEDAT and my Dale Earnhardt Tribute.

Starting with the gulf war in 1991, the U.S. has fought wars primarily with air power. This was also true in Afghanistan. The AC130 gunship has proven to be an effective weapon for taking out forces on the ground. Download this file, and watch and listen as the AC130 takes on an Alqaida cell on the ground in Afghanistan. If the file plays rather than downloads when you click on the link below, right click on it, and select "save target as." AC130 Gunship Video Download

As you probably know, when Kim Elliott left the Communications World program at the Voice of America,. They did not replace him, and the show was cancelled. However, in the weeks following Kim's departure, they ran a series of specials he produced, on the history of VOA in conjunction with its 60th anniversary. I hope you enjoy them. Every Thursday night, at about 10:25 ET, we talk technical with Mike Kohl of Global Communications. I've had numerous requests to make the segment with Mike available as a separate download so there you go. It will probably be one to two days after the show before this is updated, so your best bet is probably to look sometime on Saturday. You can visit Mike's website to read about the latest in satellite. Find out about everything from the "canadian solution," and a current listing of MPEG-2 free to air signals to the latest in dish and receiver technology. If you have a question for Mike, or a topic you would like us to discuss on the air, just ask.

Please check back again soon. And as always, feel free to drop me an e-mail any time.
